Cause / Rational Thought - Def
   What is Rational Thought ?

It is a thought based on Rationality and determined by the quality or state of being reasonable, and factual. It implies the conformity of one's reasons for action.

The word 'rational' means reasonable, logical, factual etc in social, philosophical, scientific, judicial and mathematical contexts. And, the 'Rational Thought' means a reasonable thought backed by an appropriate action based on facts and ground realities. In broader term, we find reflection of honest use of positive action, creativity, political correctness, ethical sensibilities,  conscientiousness, courage and scientific temper.

Rational Thought is always objective and never subjective. It has nothing to do with the 'theism' (आस्तिकता) or 'atheism' (नास्तिकता), 'secular or communal', 'classes' or 'masses' and 'pro' or 'anti'. Besides, it usually thinks beyond the realm of various kinds of 'biases', 'prejudices', 'isms', and 'ideologies', as well as different types of scheming for divisive, discriminatory, exploitative, and deceptive actions

We do not approve the efforts of atheists of twisting and misusing rational thoughts to promote their cause of spreading atheism, similarly the theists efforts of sanctifying superstitions as scientific and rational and misguiding masses to perpetuate their vested interests. Misuse of rational thought is obviously aimed at confusing people and prevent them from taking any reasonable stand.

Quotes :-
"To irrational principles, one cannot be loyal. Ideas that are not derived from reality cannot be consistently practiced in reality.
― as quoted by Leonard Peikoff in "Objectivism: The Philosophy of Ayn Rand"

"Intelligent men do not decide any subject until they have carefully examined both or all sides of it. Fools, cowards, and those too lazy to think, accept blindly, without examination, dogmas and doctrines imposed upon them in childhood by their parents, priests, and teachers, when their minds were immature and they could not reason.”
            ― James Hervey Johnson

“I am more human than rational.”
            ― Karen Essex, Stealing Athena

Here are 10 irrational thoughts that rational people often fall victim to at one point or another:
(taken from social media)
1. Mistakes are never acceptable. If I make one, it means that I am incompetent.
2. When somebody disagrees with me, it is a personal attack against me.
3. To be content in life, I must be liked by all people.
4. My true value as an individual depends on what others think of me.
5. If I am not involved in an intimate relationship, I am completely alone.
6. There is no grey area. Success is black and failure is white.
7. Nothing ever turns out the way you want it to.
8. If the outcome was not perfect, it was a complete failure.
9. I am in absolute control of my life. If something bad happens, it is my fault.
10. The past always repeats itself. If it was true then, it must be true now.
Your life will be more productive if you learn to avoid this type of negative thinking.
